Propolis is made by honey bees which collect various resins from trees and flower buds. The honey bees use propolis to disinfect and to repair their hives. Propolis has been shown to have flavonoids and numerous other micronutrients. This highly studied bee product reportedly has strong antibiotic, antioxidant and anti-viral properties. Bee pollen is the male seeds of flowers collected on the legs of honey bees and formed into granules. Honey bees rely on this pollen and honey for food.
